Transforming bacterial cells into living artificial neural circuits

To this end, an international team of researchers (Israel, USA – MIT) has introduced the perceptgene, a perceptron that computes in the logarithmic domain, which enables efficient implementation of artificial neural networks in Escherichia coli cells.
