Biointelligence and National Security in the 21st Century

AFCEA  October 11, 2022 Globally, governments and industry are recognizing the promise that the biological sciences can offer, but it is also critical to recognize the evolving perils such innovation can entail. Looking toward this future, over the past five years, IARPA has launched 10 new bio-focused programs including the Finding Engineering Linked Indicators (FELIX) program, which contributed to the first IC public statement that the SARS-CoV-2 virus was not genetically engineered as well as the Molecular Information Storage (MIST) program, which is pursuing new ways of using biology for scalable data storage. IARPA is situated to empower the entire […]

IARPA pursues advanced radio eavesdropping defenses

Defense Systems  August 18, 2020 IARPA has released a request for information for the Securing Compartmented Information with Smart Radio Systems (SCISRS) Research Program. It wants to find elusive radio frequency irregularities in increasingly complex radio environments, including low probability of intercept signals (LPIs), altered or mimicked signals, and abnormal unintended emissions using smart radio technologies…read more.

Help IARPA develop better activity detection algorithms for long video

Fedscoop  November 8, 2018 IARPA has issued Activities in Extended Video Prize Challenge, a project which seeks to encourage the development of robust automatic activity detection algorithms for a multi-camera streaming video environment. Challenge participants will develop activity detection and temporal localization algorithms for 18 activities, such as a person opening a car trunk or talking to another person or texting, and locate those activities in time and space. The challenge kicks off Dec. 4 and will run until May 15, 2019…read more.
